Announcement on Alternation and Upgrading Standard for CCC Certification-GB18408-2015 Automobile Lamps

Standard GB18408-2015 "Photometric characteristics of devices for the illumination of rear registration plates of motor vehicles and their trailers",which is the basis for automobile lamps and whole vehicle certification,has been issued on Oct.9,2015.It will be put into formal implementation since Jul.1,2016,to substitute for corresponding standard of old edition GB18408-2001.We hereby make explicit statement of relevant requirements for standard of new edition execution of compulsory certification for corresponding products as follows:
1.For the illumination of rear registration plates(hereinunder referred as lamps of registration plates) and whole vehicle products(including those fueled by new energy),which are applied for new CCC certification,are required to be certificated in accordance with the requirements in standard GB18408-2015 since Jul.1,2016.
2.Considering the transitional period required by Clause No.8 of GB18408-2015,the applicant shall finish the alteration of CCC certification certificates(http://china-ccc-certification.com/178.html )in accordance with the standard of new edition accordingly for above products which have been certificated before Jul.1,2016,specific alteration requirements are as follows:
1) No need of additional differential tests for lamps of registration plates with full filament lamp as light source.New CCC certification certificates will be upgraded and issued after the review of relevant materials for application;
2) For those including light source modules,these parts shall be tested for photometric characteristics additionally in accordance with the standard of new edition,and new CCC certification certificates will be upgraded and issued after passing the test.
3) Upgrading of CCC certification certificates of standard of old edition shall be finished before Jun.30,2018.In case the upgrading has not been finished within the specified period,or the CCC certification certificates have not been upgraded into the maintenance component certificates for models of stop operation,the CCC certification certificates of standard of old edition will be suspended.They will be withdrawn in case the transformation has not been finished before Sep.30,2018.
4) The upgrading of CCC certification certificates are not required for those certificated products which have been transported out of the factory,put into the markets and will not be produced any more before Jul.1,2016.
