Announcement about Specifying Compulsory Certification for Hair Blowers for Pets and Similar Products

CNCA has received the inquiry about compulsory product certification(hereinafter referred to as CCC Certification) for hair blowers for pets and similar products by the local quality inspection departments,certification bodies and manufacturers.To carry out the CCC Certification and law enforcement more,efficiently,and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of majority of consumers and manufacturers,now we specify the requirements of CCC Certification for hair blowers for pets and similar products as follows:
1.Hair blowers for pets are household and similar appliances designed for quickly drying the skins or hairs of cats,dogs and other pets with long hairs,which are applicable for the standard requirement of GB 4706.15-2008 “Household and similar electrical appliances-safety-Particular requirements for appliances for skin or hair care”,which shall be categorized as appliances for skin or hair care in household and similar appliances within the scope of compulsory product certification catalogue.
2.Considering that hair blowers for pets and similar products are new products in the market,some certification bodies,local quality inspection departments and manufacturers,etc.have not reached the unified recognition for the requirements of compulsory certification for these products.To guarantee the quality safety while encouraging the innovation of the products,for relevant enterprises which has manufactured those products,they shall finish the CCC Certification before Dec.31,2016 according to the CCC Certification implementation rules for household and similar appliances.Since Jan.1,2017,hair blowers for pets and similar products which have not obtained CCC Certification as required shall not be transported out of the factory,sold,imported to China or used in other operation activities.
